What does a Professional Organizer buy at Walmart?
During one of your trips to Walmart, you may wander around the aisles looking at items, and wonder to yourself what’s worth buying and what isn’t. Well, I’m here to help! As a professional organizer, I’ve tested thousands of organizing products over the years. Hence, I’ve created this curated list for you of all my favorite products I tend to reach for at Walmart.

Smart Design Premium S Hooks with Rubber Gripped Finish - $5.96
This set includes 6 metal S hooks, perfect for hanging whatever your heart desires. I tend to use them for bags and accessories, but they are great for hanging up anything, from scarves and caps, to tank tops and camisoles.
Mainstays 18 Pair Over Door Shoe Organizer - $13.84
This over-the-door shoe organizer simply slides over the top of your door frame and hangs there, so there’s absolutely no drilling required. Great for renters, these shoe racks are affordable and offer room for 18 pairs of shoes. My favorite way to use these is for hanging wig storage!
Mainstays 26-Pocket Organizer - $7.74
This is hands down my favorite multipurpose item. This shoe organizer simply hangs over a door, so it can go anywhere you need it. They can hold so much more than shoes! I love to use them in clothes closets, but also in laundry rooms and cleaning closets as well. Since they’re clear, it makes it so easy to see what’s inside and grab whatever you’re looking for. That makes this another great choice for ADHD-friendly organization.

These clip hangers are a fantastic way to save space in your closet. Each hanger holds up to 6 skirts, shorts, or pairs of pants. Utilizing vertical storage is one of the best ways to save space in a small closet, so that’s why this hanger is one of my favorites.

Anchor Hocking has done it again with another excellent option for laundry room storage. This glass candy jar is angled with a forward-facing opening, so it’s easier to reach when you need it.
My Favorite Kitchen and Pantry Products
Rubbermaid 3.2 Cup Brilliance Stain-Proof Food Storage Container Set of 2 - $9.98
One of the main things I tell my clients is to standardize their tupperware. Get something that’s all the same size, that can stack easily in your fridge and cabinet.
This is hands down the best tupperware out there, in my opinion. Rubbermaid Brilliance offers air-tight food storage in these BPA-free plastic tupperware containers. Best of all, they’re dishwasher safe, so it’s unbelievably easy to clean them. The seal is totally solid. Even when dropping them a few times, they’ve remained sealed and didn’t crack, so they’re sturdy, too!
Mainstays 3.5 Quart All Purpose Food Dispenser - $5.97
This product is my No. 1 favorite product to use for storing baking goods, such as flour, sugar, and baking soda. They’re insanely cheap, sturdy, top rack dishwasher-safe, hold up to 14 cups, and feature an easy-to-use pouring spout. Plus, you can store your baking goods in 2 different ways - either in-bag or out of the bag.
Mainstays Plastic Utility Storage Organizer Bin, Clear, 15 x 10x 9.5 - $5.78
These plastic bins are awesome for pantry storage! Being transparent means you can easily see what’s in your pantry before a grocery store run, and don’t have to dig to see what you actually have. The 15-inch depth is also great for those awful, deep closet-style pantries you see all over Texas (When will builders learn?!). The handles also make them simple to grab.
Mainstays 18.5 Cup Cereal Dispenser with Tritan Technology - $12.83
Cereal dispensers are essential in EVERY pantry. Nothing grosses me out more than seeing cereal that isn’t sealed; bugs and all kinds of gross things can get in there. These cereal dispensers rival the famous Oxopop ones - at less than half the price. They’re airtight, hold 18.5 cups of cereal, and feature an easy-pour spout. Feel free to store cereal, pasta, or snacks in these.
Mainstays White Wire Pots and Pans Organization Rack - $12.93
I was so thrilled when Walmart finally started carrying these. They’re a dupe of the YouCopia Expandable Cookware Organizer, which retails for $40 at The Container Store. I love this one because it can be used either vertically or horizontally, and it’s adjustable! If you get nothing else on this list, GET THIS. In fact, get several of them. They’re a game changer in your kitchen. I use them for pots and pans, bakeware, and cutting boards. And hey, parents of small babies, these are also great in your homes. Think about naptime. Have you ever pulled out a skillet only to hear CLANG CLANG CLANG as you do so, and worry about waking up the baby? Well, worry no more. This product’s clever design solves that problem.

Running out of storage space in your kitchen? Utilize the inside of your cabinet doors! These handy little products hang over the inside of your cabinet doors to better optimize space. Use them for anything you wish; they’re so versatile!

Tired of digging through a messy drawer of bags everywhere? This gorgeous bamboo Ziploc bag organizer solves that issue and makes it easy to see and grab any size Ziploc bag you may need. It also keeps them separated and makes them look beautiful!
Sterilite Large Stacking Basket Plastic - $4.14
These Sterilite bins are fantastic for deep pantries. At 17 inches deep, these bins won’t get swallowed up by your deep, closet-style pantry. Simply slide them out, grab what you need, and slide them right back in. The coolest part about these bins is that they’re stackable! And remember, one of the best ways to optimize organization in a small space is by using vertical space! Hence, these bins are a great option for anyone looking for vertical storage solutions.

HART 50 Gallon Rolling Plastic Tool Chest with Worktop for Garage - $92
This is the coolest toolchest I’ve ever seen at a non-hardware store. Have you noticed the cup holders built into the top? The best part is that it’s on wheels, so it’s easy to move around wherever you need it without hurting your back. Plus, the saw-groove worktop allows you to slide in a piece of wood to easily cut it without moving. It features steel latches for secure storage as well.
HyperTough Steel 5-Tier Storage Shelf Unit 72”H - $69
These are my favorite storage shelves for any garage. Why? Because they’re made of durable steel, they’re weatherproof, not too heavy, and each shelf is adjustable. I always recommend these shelves over any others for those reasons. Plus, the little grooves on each shelf allow you to hang items off the sides as well. They’re the perfect size for storing standardized plastic totes.

This plastic organizer comes in a two pack, but up to 3 of them can snap together. Each organizer has 17 compartments, perfect for storing small items like nails, screws, or other hardware. The carrying handle makes it easy to take them with you for a project or travel if needed.

Mainstays 10-Shelf Non Woven Hanging Shoe Organizer - $6.92
You may be wondering why a shoe organizer is in the craft room section. Well, I’ve found that these are excellent for storing yarn! Simply slide a yarn into each slot and voila - you can see everything you have all at once, and it’s separated neatly. It just hangs on a closet bar. If you have a large collection, get several and hang them next to each other.
