3 Easy Ways to Fold Towels
Did you know that there’s more than one way to fold a towel?
Read on to learn 3 super easy ways to fold your towels to leave them looking nice.
Method 1: The Triple Fold
This is my family’s go-to towel folding style. This style takes up less horizontal space than the classic fold, and more vertical space, which can be a gamechanger in your bathroom or linen closet!
Here’s how it works:
Take your towel and lay it out, completely open, on a flat surface.
Fold it in half longways (hot dog style). It should look long and skinny now.
Then fold it in half crosswise (hamburger style), but DO NOT match up the edges. The ends should not quite meet. Leave about an inch or two of space.
Then fold it into thirds!
Method 2: The Classic Fold
The way most people tend to fold their towels is what I call the Classic Fold.
Here’s how to do it:
Take your towel and lay it out, completely open, on a flat surface.
Fold it in half longways (hot dog style). It should look long and skinny now.
Fold it in half crosswise (hamburger style).
Fold it in half crosswise again (hamburger style).
Now you have a neatly folded towel! This style is great for stacking on a shelf or in a cupboard, cabinet, or linen closet.
Method 3: The Fold & Roll
This method is my absolute favorite way to fold towels. Here’s how it works:
Take your towel and lay it out, completely open, on a flat surface.
Fold it in half longways (hot dog style). It should look long and skinny now.
Fold it in half crosswise (hamburger style) and line up the edges.
Take the open end (where the hem of the towel is) and start rolling until complete!
This style is excellent for stacking in a cabinet, linen closet, or even on shelves. My personal favorite, however, is putting them in a wine rack that’s big enough to hold towels and bath sheets! You can find ours on Amazon by clicking here.
